XIV NATIONAL CONFERENCE of ICF Italy – 28 and 29 September 2017 – Venice.

Our introductory lecture on “The Neuroscience of Conversational Intelligence: Why Every Word Matters” – the title in Italian is “Intelligenza conversazionale per il coaching: perché ogni parola conta!” – will be offered on the 28th of September 2017 at the XIV Annual Conference of ICF Italy in Venice.

It will be a Synchronous Learning (SL) lecture allowing real-time interaction between the speaker and participants, and including direct instruction and observations. It will focus on the third group of the ICF Core Competencies “Communicating Effectively”, and Core Competency Continuing Coach Education (CCE) of “Active Listening”, “Powerful Questioning” and “Direct Communication”.

According to a Stanford University study, nine out of ten conversations are off their mark, resulting in the receiver and sender making assumptions, poor interpretations and negative judgments. Many of us have thought during or after an intense conversation, “What just happened?” or “What is going on here?”, and experienced conversations with loved ones, work colleagues and acquaintances that missed the mark, resulting in feeling frustrated, fearful, annoyed and or bewildered.

“The Neuroscience of Conversational Intelligence: Why Every Word Matters” lecture cuts through the murkiness of communication challenges and patterns. It provides a framework and simple tools for obtaining balanced, clear and engaging conversations that get results.
